The 2025 Study Abroad Fair at The University of Tulsa witnessed a significant surge in attendance on September 25. Organized by the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) in collaboration with the Student Activities Board, the event attracted 268 students, marking a notable increase compared to previous years. The fair, held in the Student Union Great Hall, aimed to enlighten students about various study abroad opportunities, including travel courses and direct exchange programs.
Students were presented with a diverse array of options, ranging from partnerships with foreign institutions to faculty-led excursions. The offerings spanned nearly 50 study abroad programs in countries like Thailand, China, Japan, Peru, and many more. Despite the allure of these opportunities, financial constraints and a lack of awareness about the application process often act as deterrents for prospective participants. To address these concerns, the CGE staff disseminated information about the support services available and the financial aid options accessible to students seeking to embark on international academic ventures.
In the previous academic year, over 300 UTulsa students engaged in study abroad experiences across more than 20 countries. Additionally, an average of 15 students annually participate in exchange programs, enriching their academic journey through global exposure. The CGE not only facilitates outbound programs but also extends assistance to the university’s 452 international students, 33 of whom are currently enrolled through direct exchange partnerships.
